Progress week 43 - Digital contact lenses as a window for future magazine reading

Digital contact lenses as a window for future magazine reading

iC or eyeSee or iSee

What we have done?
Imagine if you want to read your digital paper in the subway, and you just have a paper magazine in front of you that suddenly becomes your new magazine instead. This is what we are thinking about.
The technique we need to look into to make it possible is digital contact lenses, probably with some kind of nano-technology. This enables us to add more layers into your eyesight on top of your usual view.
This opens up a lot of new possibilities and that’s a part of our project, to explore what we can do with this technique.
The simple ideas we have on this stage is to add the magazine as an add on where you have chosen you tracking-points and as well to use the environment to make the whole feeling stronger.
We have also been discussing how we are going to present our idea and how we will structure the written part.
We have narrowed the magazine types down to two. History and travel (time travel).
We are currently sketching on a story board for our concept movie and also the technology we need.

What we will do
We will divide the different areas of the written report among us.
Screen tests for our concept movie. Book interviews with VFX artists.
The problems
How to control the device?
Simple image processing that tracks the hand gestures.
 VFX tracking points.
Image processing.
How do we read, paper or some kind of device or both.
THE GOAL
Creating a greater sense of immersion.
Done by changing the view around you.
See a product read the review.
See something historical read about it.
