Weekly status report 'Social recommendations'

Group name: Social recommendations

What we have done: During the previous weeks our focus has been on collection data to make the project idea and predictions of the future as good as possible. Initially we looked on similar solutions that exist today  and have formulated questions surrounding these. We have had mail correspondence with many of the guest lecturers. We have already conducted three interviews with media experts and have arranged for another 5-8. The answers we get will be used as a foundation for future work. We’ve also collected data using a mass survey among students: till now (Thursday evening) we’ve already got about 90 responses.

What we will do: Starting next week we will process the information gathered and start forming our idea on how a social recommendations solution could look in 15 years from now. We will start doing basic mockups and start planning for the presentation film.

Problems encountered: So far, no real problems have been encountered. Perhaps not all the experts are convinced this would be a groundbreaking function in the future of digital magazine consumption though. Sometimes we found different ideas very tempting but it turned out that some solutions had already existed, so we’re trying to not recreate the wheel.

Changes in the project: We are prepared to alter our direction a bit based on the feedback from interviews and the survey but this data hasn’t been processed yet.
If any changes appear, we will let you all know.

Other: We are having a lot of fun during the work on the project:)
